“Amigo” started life as a piece written by Gari Sinedima for Sir KG and the late Ta-Ice (Isaiah Sefara). After Ta-Ice passed in 2022, the track nearly disappeared into the hard drives at Basement Art. Sir KG didn’t feel ready to finish it without Ta-Ice.
By early 2025, we began piecing the track back together. Ta-Ice’s touch was irreplaceable—no one else carried that particular weight—so Sir KG pushed through and shaped his own version, the '77Alburnum Mix'. It had depth, it had heart, but we knew the story wasn’t finished.
Enter 60 Hertz Project. If Ta-Ice could have chosen someone to reimagine the track, it would have been them. They took Gari’s vocal and carved out a remix that’s pure soul, jazz, and groove—effortless, timeless, and easily one of the standout deep house cuts to come out of South Africa in a minute.
But we didn’t stop there. Our label Boss wanted another layer, so we tapped Kinetic Torch. He came through with a 3-step version that explodes in scale, a sound that feels larger than life. In the studio, Kinetic Torch is on another frequency—precision, energy, and instinct. Nuclear!
“Amigo” became more than a track. It’s a quiet tribute to Ta-Ice. Each version—Sir KG’s, 60 Hertz Project, and Kinetic Torch’s—feels like a piece of what he might have created. Together, they carry his spirit forward, unfinished but eternal.
